Worldwide broadband use
Figures just released show that worldwide broadband use at the close of 2004 was as follows:
1. US 34.3 million broadband households (30% of households)
2. China 23.2m (just 7% of households!)
3. Japan 17.5m (39% of households)
4. South Korea 11.5m (73% of households)
5. France 6.1m (23%)
6. Germany 5.7m (15%)
7. Britain 5.6m (22%)
By percentage of households with broadband, Korea was the leader by a margin of nearly 25% over other populous nations. Tech-savvy and densely-populated Japan ranks just 6th, and the USA 11th.
