I have a great idea for a new Korean TV show. It's bascially a variation on 쟁반 노래방 (tray karaoke), a programme on which celebrities try to sing a song they don't know after only hearing it earlier in the show. It's called tray karaoke because they get hit over the head 'automatically' by some trays suspended on ropes when they get it wrong. The basis of my idea is to get some beginner Korean language students to listen to a popular ballad and try to write it down as best they can. The results seem to have Koreans rolling on the floor with laughter, as I discovered today when I had a go at it:
