CSS
I haven't done much web development for a few years, and so today has been the first time I've used CSS seriously. I'm disappointed to find that not much has changed since the days of tables and invisible GIFs: after several hours work, I have CSS code that displays as I want it in Internet Explorer, validates perfectly, and yet appears as gibberish in Mozilla.
What has changed is that Mozilla doesn't matter any more: if my pages display OK on Microsoft systems and will also degenerate acceptably for disabled users, that's good enough for me.
